In version 17.1.1, After Effects developers broke some of expressions functions that are used in most Seamless Transitions and AE Face Tools. More details here.
This bug was fixed in the After Effects 17.1.2 update. You can update After Effects through Adobe Creative Clouds.
To continue using presets in After Effects 17.1.1 you can do the following:
1 Go to: File > Project Settings > Expressions
2 For the Expressions Engine, select “Legacy ExtendScript” and click OK
